In 1997, I set out to make a better hammer. I hope you'll agree that I've succeeded.
As a carpenter, I prefer wood handled hammers over steel or plastic, but didn't like frequntly replacing handles due to wear and breakage. I'm also a designer, so I sought to fix the problem and add maximum utility. Douglas hammers are the result of my efforts. Douglas hammers feature the strongest wood handle system available, with an American Hickory hande designed for durability, low vibration and power. The Douglas design has earned a number of U.S. and international patents for design and utility and has additional patents pending. This hammer was available briefly under another name and I was overwhelmed by the positive response from carpenters and other trade professionals.
I started my own company, Douglas Tool Inc., to ensure the quality and availability of my tools.
